THE QB REPORT

Miami QB Tyler Van Dyke (Stats) and true freshman Emory Williams (Stats) split reps with the first-team offense this week, according to the Miami Herald’s Susan Miller Degnan. Williams made his first career start in last week’s win over Clemson with Van Dyke out with an injury. Earlier this week, head coach Mario Cristobal said Van Dyke will be good to go on Saturday vs. Virginia and while the decision may not be known until game time, the Hurricanes are heavily leaning toward him returning to the starting lineup, according to the report. He has been wearing a brace on his knee, and Williams will not be able to use this as a redshirt season if he plays another snap.
Florida is not giving up on Florida State’s 2025 4-star QB commit Tramell Jones Jr., according to On3’s Chad Simmons. The Seminoles received an early commitment from the in-state quarterback prospect in April, and Jones claimed he is still locked in with Florida State. The Gators are still searching for a 2025 QB and had him on campus last month, and Kentucky is also in contact, according to the report. Jones has more than a year to figure out where his college football landing spot is as the Seminoles look to hang on.
Giants QB Daniel Jones (Stats) was ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Jets with a neck injury. Head coach Brian Daboll did said he does not have a crystal ball after being asked whether Jones will return at all this season. Tyrod Taylor (Stats) will make his third consecutive start with Tommy DeVito (Stats) as the backup this weekend.

Head coach Biff Poggi said the 49ers settled on a starting quarterback after last week’s victory over East Carolina. Trexler Ivey (Stats) made one start before Jones returned to the starting lineup on Saturday when he played every snap and is listed as the starter on this week’s depth chart.
