The Gunslinger Buzz will never be cheaper than this week
Sign up for a monthly or annual subscription by Friday
A paid subscription to The Gunslinger Buzz will increase to $10/month or $100/year (dodges shoe) by the end of this week. Before you sprint for the unsubscribe button, understand that many of you will not see a difference.
What does this mean for paying subscribers?
Nothing. If you’re currently a paying subscriber, none of this applies to you. With Substack, you’re locked in with whatever you signed up at, and that’s your rate for the rest of time unless you unsubscribe. I’ll be promoting the hell out of this in the lead up to the season but if you’re enjoying your Gunslinger Buzz subscription, word-of-mouth marketing is incredibly effective.
What does this mean for free subscribers?
If you’re a free subscriber or checking in for the first time, this is the perfect time to sign up for a paid subscription because the price will never be lower. You’ll have until Friday to sign up for a lifetime rate of $6/month or $60/year before the price increases over the weekend. If you’ve ever considered becoming a paid subscriber, the time is now.
What do I get with a subscription?
Subscribers get inside access to college football QB recruiting, transfer portal, depth chart and injury news.
You won’t read more detailed QB depth charts and injury reports with updated notes on every FBS quarterback, and the same can be said for the FCS coverage. These are perfect for tracking the latest roster movement year-round, and they’re must-reads for sports bettors with daily updates during the college football season.
If you’re a player or parent navigating the recruiting world or a fan tracking the latest news, the QB Recruiting Report brings exclusive quarterback recruiting and transfer portal scoops to your inbox every week. Joining the world of breaking news has been a thrilling ride, and getting to know players and parents has become one of the best parts of the job.
You’ll get 3-4 posts every week with QB depth chart and injury reports for every FBS and FCS quarterback room, in addition to exclusive recruiting updates on the top prospects.
Recruiting articles also list every new FBS and FCS quarterback recruiting and transfer commitment, offer and more through the 2027 class.
Outside of the newsletter, the QB recruiting and transfer portal trackers are updated on the site as news breaks, and a junior college page follows the latest Juco quarterback movement. The Master Calendar makes the in-season and offseason schedule easier to follow.
Why the price increase?
A year ago, I would not be comfortable asking for $100/year, but now it’s worth it.
It took several months to turn on paid subscriptions as I figured this out, and reader suggestions played a big role in what this site has become. For example, I never thought I’d add any FCS or Juco content, but I heard from enough subscribers in my inbox that there’s clearly a demand.
Ninety percent of my time has been spent behind the scenes without a ton of writing time available. I’ve finally gotten to a point where building the site is just about done, and I can flip the building-to-writing ratio and focus on bringing you more of the content you sign up for.
Thank you for supporting
Tracking thousands of high school and college quarterbacks takes over many nights and weekends, but I genuinely love doing this and your generous support fires me up to provide breaking news to subscribers every day.
I’ll never forget the first day turning on paid subscriptions. I had no idea what to expect but after the initial 24 hours, the number of paid subscribers was no longer zero.
Subscribers won’t be revealed unless they give permission but while a lot of sign ups come from fans and quarterback parents, I’ve received messages from names you know like TV analysts, players and head coaches of the best programs in the country. Player personnel departments became supporters, in addition to sports bettors and sportsbook oddsmakers during the season.
I’ve seen steady growth ever since subscriber No. 1, and it’ll never be lost on me that somebody pulls out a credit card and decides to pay for my writing. It means a lot, and I’m very grateful for your continued support of The Gunslinger Buzz.
