MY TOP THREE
2025 5-star QB Bryce Underwood (MI) is expected to commit today with LSU as the favorite for the class’s top quarterback. The Tigers pulled away from in-state Michigan, though Underwood’s finalists also include Alabama, Colorado, Florida State, Oregon and Penn State, 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong reported. The announcement is expected to come around 5:30 p.m. ET on Saturday via a video.
Maryland QB Taulia Tagovailoa (stats) entered the transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos reported. The Terps’ three-year starter needs to be granted an extra year of eligibility, but he played in more than four regular season games in four seasons and already took advantage of the extra COVID year. It’s unclear why he would get another season but if he does, that’s great news for teams still in the market for a quarterback.
Boise State is the favorite for USC transfer QB Malachi Nelson (stats), ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported. The former 5-star prospect was outside the top two with the Trojans as a true freshman and is expected to be visiting the Broncos this weekend. Nelson has four years of eligibility left and is clearly looking for early playing time, so he’d be the favorite to beat out Maddux Madsen (stats) as the starter in 2024.

TRANSFER PORTAL REPORT (18)
UNLV transfer QB Jayden Maiava (stats) will visit USC this weekend, On3’s Pete Nakos reported. Maiava took over as the Rebels’ starter this fall, and the Trojans are in need of quarterback depth. He would likely compete for the starting spot with Miller Moss (stats), who’s the favorite to start in 2024. Both have multiple years of eligibility remaining.
