Good morning, college football. Less than two weeks from National Signing Day: Part 2, here are a few updates. Starting Monday, multiple FCS-only posts will publish every week moving forward. Because you’re already getting an email from me every weekday and I’m very mindful of not filling up your inbox, every FCS post will be exclusive to the website and can be found here.
I received enough messages requesting FCS content that I think this will fill a niche that is not being covered elsewhere. The first FCS quarterback depth chart will be ready next week. I reached out to every program because info can be hard to come by, and team staff members were incredibly helpful with this. I did the same for FBS, so there will be plenty of new updates in next week’s FBS QB depth chart with some exclusive news.
Also, the podcast will return in a few weeks. It’ll publish once a week for free with an extended version for paying subscribers. Subscribe to the YouTube channel and adjust your lives accordingly.
In today’s edition, you’ll be getting plenty of quarterback updates from the 2025 recruiting class and much more.
Everything you read, watch or hear comes from me, Erik Buchinger. Email GunslingerBuzz@gmail.com with any questions, comments or news tips.
MY TOP THREE
Washington QB Dermaricus Davis withdrew from the transfer portal. He entered earlier this week coming off the Huskies’ coaching change but will join a quarterback room that also hung on to Mississippi State transfer Will Rogers (stats). Davis could compete for the backup role with fellow incoming 4-star true freshman Demond Williams Jr., who followed former Arizona head coach Jedd Fisch to Washington.
2026 4-star QB Jared Curtis (TN) will delay his commitment with the hope committing this summer, On3’s Chad Simmons reported. He’s coming off Georgia and South Carolina visits with expected trips to see Oregon in February and Ohio State this spring with Oklahoma and Florida State also in the mix.
USC 2025 4-star QB commit Julian Lewis (GA) will visit Alabama after getting an offer from the Crimson Tide’s new coaching staff, 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong reported. He committed to the Trojans in August and since reclassified from the 2026 recruiting class. Lewis is coming off an Auburn visit and will see Colorado and Georgia over the next two weeks.
