National Signing Day has become one of the most underrated days on the sports calendar, and it’s even more entertaining in the NIL era. Just when you think a player is about to sign, there is the opportunity for a mystery team to swoop in and entice a high school kid with a bunch of money. Of course that’s still technically against the rules, but you’re not going to find much NCAA involvement in things like that anymore.

This is where I’d share an interesting tweet to emphasize my point from Dan Wetzel of Yahoo Sports that showed how the NIL era has evened the playing field in terms of where elite-level prospects are going. Unfortunately, Twitter is down at the moment, and I can’t remember the exact stat.
