COLLEGE FOOTBALL QB REPORT
Quarterback Central | Teams | Players
Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said QB Maalik Murphy (Stats) will make his second consecutive start in Saturday’s game against Kansas State with Quinn Ewers (Stats) being called week to week with a shoulder injury. Murphy played every snap in the victory over BYU as true freshman Arch Manning (Stats) has yet to make his college football debut.
2024 4-star QB Trever Jackson decommitted from Ole Miss over the weekend, according to his Twitter post. He was the last blue-chip quarterback prospect to make a commitment in this class and is back on the market. He quickly received an offer from UNLV, which is dealing with the loss of 3-star Karson Gordon, who decommitted this past weekend. Ole Miss does not have a quarterback committed to the 2024 or 2025 class.
Kansas head coach Lance Leipold said when QB Jalon Daniels (Stats) is healthy, he will be the starter over Jason Bean (Stats), though he is not at that point yet heading into Saturday’s matchup at Iowa State. Daniels missed four consecutive games with a back injury that has been an issue since training camp, and Bean led the Jayhawks to an upset win over Oklahoma. Expect him to get another start this weekend.

Central Michigan QB Jase Bauer (Stats) is listed as the starter on the depth chart for tonight’s matchup against Northern Illinois. He has been the guy for a while despite being listed as a co-starter with Bert Emanuel Jr. (Stats) Bauer played nearly every snap in the loss to Ball State prior to the bye, but it’s officially his job moving forward.
