COLLEGE FOOTBALL QB REPORT
Quarterback Central | Teams | Players
Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said starting QB Quinn Ewers (Stats) is week-to-week with Maalik Murphy (Stats) and Arch Manning (Stats) both expected to get plenty of reps in practice this week as the Longhorns prepare for Saturday’s game against BYU. If the game started today, Sarkisian said Murphy would start with Manning as the backup. Murphy appeared played four games in relief this season, while Manning has yet to make his college football debut. It’s unclear how long Ewers might be out with an AC joint sprain on his throwing shoulder, though there is optimism he will return at some point this season.
Coastal Carolina head coach Tim Beck said QB Grayson McCall (Stats) is doubtful for Saturday night’s home game against Marshall. He left the win over Arkansas State after suffering a scary injury that led to hospitalization. Beck did not rule him out and said McCall is not in concussion protocol. If he is able to play a week after leaving the field in an ambulance, that would be a surprise. Expect Jarrett Guest (Stats) to get the start.
Miami head coach Mario Cristobal said QB Tyler Van Dyke (Stats) is good to go for Saturday’s game against Virginia. He missed the win over Clemson with a hand injury, which led to a late scratch and true freshman quarterback Emory Williams (Stats) taking very snap. Williams would burn his redshirt if he plays another snap this season.

Tuesday Game Day QB Notes
Louisiana Tech QB Hank Bachmeier (Stats) could make his first start since Sept. 16 in tonight’s home matchup against New Mexico State. He missed three games with a shoulder injury before returning in relief in the loss to Middle Tennessee prior to the bye week. Jack Turner (Stats) has started in his absence, but Bachmeier remains listed as the starter on the team depth chart.
