COLLEGE FOOTBALL QB REPORT
Quarterback Central | Teams | Players
2025 4-star QB Ryan Montgomery (OH) is down to five schools, according to On3βs Hayes Fawcett. The five schools listed include Georgia, Florida, Michigan, South Carolina and Penn State. Twenty quarterback recruits rated between 3-5 stars in the 2025 class committed already, though the teams mentioned are looking for a QB in that cycle. None of the three major recruiting sites made a prediction for where Montgomery will ultimately land at this point.
Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham said QB Bryson Barnes (Stats) would be the starter if the season started today, according to The Salt Lake Tribuneβs Josh Newman. Cam Rising (Stats) has yet to be a full participant during practice as he recovers from a knee injury, and Whittingham did not provide an update on Brandon Rose (Stats), who was injured in last weekβs practice. Additionally, Whittingham said there will be packages to get Nate Johnson (Stats) on the field.
Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart (Stats) ran with the first-team offense during Mondayβs practice with Spencer Sanders (Stats) operating with the twos, according to The Grove Reportβs Ben King. Nothing has happened in the reports from training camp that suggests Dart is not the clear favorite to start at quarterback for the Rebels in Week 1. Itβs impossible to figure out how the NCAA handles transfer waivers at this point, but it will be interesting to see if Sanders is able to hit the portal prior to the season if he wants to play elsewhere.
DEPTH CHART & INJURY REPORT
Week 1 College football QB depth charts & injuries
Georgia QB Carson Beck (Stats) worked with the first-team offense during Tuesdayβs practice, according to Dawgs247βs Jordan D. Hill. Every media report has said Beck is working with the ones to this point of training camp, and that hasnβt changed since spring. Brock Vandagriff (Stats) is the favorite for the backup role, ahead of Gunner Stockton (Stats).
