North Carolina received a commitment from 2025 4-star QB Bryce Baker (NC), according to his Twitter account. Drake Maye (Stats) is likely heading into his final college football season, but the Tar Heels are set up well for the future at the position. Baker had a long list of finalists with Maryland, Boston College, Duke, Penn State, Virginia Tech, NC State and Wake Forest included in his commitment date announcement. UNC added recent commitments from 2023 4-star Tad Hudson (Stats) and 2024 3-star Michael Merdinger (FL).
Washington landed a commitment from 2024 3-star QB Dermaricus Davis (CA), according to his Twitter account. Davis is coming off a weekend visit to the Huskies after trips to see Arizona and Oregon State. Washington quickly found a replacement for 2024 3-star quarterback EJ Caminong (WA), who decommitted a few weeks ago. Davis is the second straight Washington QB commit from California, joining 2023 3-star Austin Mack (Stats).
Northwestern flipped Syracuse 2024 3-star QB commit Brendan Zurbrugg (OH), according to his Twitter account. Zurbrugg had been committed to the Orange for about a week before switching over the the Wildcats. He announced his Northwestern offer on the same day he committed to Syracuse, which hasnβt landed a high school quarterback since the 2021 recruiting class.

Dom Shoffner (Stats) will return to Charlotte, according to his Twitter account. Shoffner spent one season at Eastern Illinois following two years with Charlotte. His college football career started with at Monroe College as a 2017 2-star prospect out of North Carolina. Bethune-Cookman transfer Jalon Jones (Stats) is expected to be the 49ers starter this fall, and itβll be interesting to see if Shoffner can step into the No. 2 spot during his final year of eligibility.
