Information comes from a variety of team sources, press conferences and lots of reading. This will never be perfect, but I do my best to make the most accurate resource for FBS quarterback news. Every recruiting commit is included in the team sections to give you a look at every current and future FBS quarterback room.

Eligibility Notes

• Players may play up to 4 games in a season without it counting toward a year of eligibility if they have a redshirt available.

• 2020 COVID season didn’t count toward a year of eligibility.

• *Indicates redshirt is still available to use.

• **Indicates player is serving an LDS mission OR attending service academy prep school. I assume service academy players are in the prep school until they’re listed on the roster.

Injury Designation Notes

• Probable — Player suffered an injury but finished the most recent game and looked reasonably healthy.

• Questionable — Player suffered an injury in the previous game and did not return OR has yet to return from an injury that forced him to miss the most recent game.

• Out — Player is out indefinitely or will miss the rest of the season.

Next to the player names, you’ll see years of eligibility remaining heading into the 2024 season and the highest high school star rating from 247, On3 and Rivals if they had one.

Alabama Crimson Tide

Aug. 14, 2024 - Dylan Lonergan and Austin Mack are competing for the No. 3 spot, according to Tuscaloosa News’ Anna Snyder. Lonergan played one game last season, and Mack did not appear in a game with Washington. Jalen Milroe is a returning starter after taking over the role early in the 2023 season.

QB Room Notes

The Michigan starting QB will not be Jack Tuttle, at least initially, according to Big Ten Network’s Dave Revsine. Tuttle is working through an elbow injury, and that appears to have set him back enough to where this is likely Alex Orji’s job ahead of him and Davis Warren. Orji and Tuttle played six games in reserve roles in 2023, while Warren appeared in three last season.

USC HC Lincoln Riley named Miller Moss the starter over Jayden Maiava, according to the team’s Twitter account. Moss played five games in 2023 and started the bowl game when Caleb Williams opted out. Maiava played all 14 games with UNLV in 2023 and took over as the starter over Doug Brumfield for the final 11 matchups.

Most of the intel suggests Iowa QB Cade McNamara being the guy over Brendan Sullivan, according to Hawkeye Insider’s Sean Bock. OC Tim Lester said McNamara and Sullivan have been battling for the starting spot, and HC Kirk Ferentz called McNamara the definitive starter going into camp but has been non-committal since then. McNamara started the first five games of last year before a season-ending torn ACL on Sept. 30, 2023. Sullivan played seven games with four starts for Northwestern last season and committed to Iowa in May.
