In today’s edition, you’ll get the latest notes on every SEC quarterback room, and I’m going through the rest of FBS for Thursday’s update. These will usually be out much sooner, but it’s been a busy week. Every FBS depth chart at the bottom of this page is updated with snaps, starts and games played for every quarterback.
The Gunslinger Buzz gives subscribers inside access to college football QB recruiting, transfer portal, depth chart and injury news.
Under the QB Room Notebook is a section that shows every FBS quarterback depth chart with info like stats, snaps, starts, games played and years of eligibility remaining for 700+ quarterbacks. Every recruiting commit is included in the team sections to give you a complete look at every current and future FBS quarterback room.

QB Headlines
Florida - Head coach Billy Napier said he intends to play true freshman DJ Lagway every week after making his first start in Saturday’s 45-7 win vs. Samford. Graham Mertz suffered a concussion in the previous game, and while he hasn’t been cleared, Napier said he anticipates Mertz to be full speed this week. It’s unclear who will start on Saturday vs. Texas A&M. Also, Aidan Warner entered the blowout vs. Samford, and Clay Millen did not despite the two being listed as co-backups to Lagway heading into the game.
Auburn - Head coach Hugh Freeze said backup Hank Brown will get his share of reps this week. He added Payton Thorne has been the best QB in practice, but it has to be carried into game. Thorne played every snap in the 21-14 loss to Cal and is listed as the starter for Saturday vs. New Mexico, followed by Brown, Holden Geriner and true freshman Walker White.
Kentucky - Head coach Mark Stoops said the reason for Gavin Wimsatt playing the entire fourth quarter of the 31-6 loss to South Carolina was a combination of Brock Vandagriff suffering a shoulder injury and wanting to get him more reps. Vandagriff will start again on Saturday vs. Georgia and while Wimsatt and true freshman Cutter Boley are still listed as co-backups, Wimsatt might have a role even if he steps in as a rushing threat.
