The Monday college football edition is a QB Depth Charts & Injuries Tracker post for all 133 FBS programs with notes on quarterback rooms dealing with injuries, QB battles or any other newsworthy items. These posts are updated on the site throughout the week with a special game day guide on college football Saturdays.

Week 11 QB Depth Charts & Injuries Tracker

Keep in mind, not every team releases a depth chart or an injury report, but the depth charts reflect whatever the team releases during the week. I’ll add a few notes to provide more context to any QB injury or depth chart question, and this post is updated throughout the week. The Big Ten requires an “availability report” be released two hours before game time that shows injury questions. Other than that, there is no consequence for teams to mislead on depth charts and injuries to potentially gain an advantage.

Because of that, this will never be perfect, but I put in the time and research on this page to make sure it’s the most accurate resource for QB injury and depth chart news on the internet.

A few notes on my injury designations:

Questionable — Suffered an injury in the previous game or has yet to return from injury.
Probable — Had been injured but played and looked healthy in the previous game.
Out — No chance the player will be available.

A few notes on eligibility:

Players may play up to 4 games in a season without it counting toward a year of eligibility if they have a redshirt available.
2020 COVID season didn’t count toward a year of eligibility.
Years of eligibility shows years left heading into the 2023 season.
*Indicates redshirt is still available to use.

The top two quarterback options (more if they’re known) are in bold for all 133 FBS programs. The rest are sorted by years of eligibility remaining, followed by highest high school star rating from 247, On3 and Rivals.

TEXAS LONGHORNS (@ TCU, SATURDAY)

NOTES: Nov. 9, 2023 — Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said Quinn Ewers will return to the starting lineup for Saturday night’s game at TCU. Maalik Murphy started the last two games with Ewers out with a shoulder injury, but he was a full participant in Thursday’s practice, according to Sarkisian. Murphy will revert to his backup role with Arch Manning as the third-string quarterback.Nov. 6, 2023 — Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said QB Quinn Ewers threw during Monday’s practice and has been upgraded from week-to-week to day-to-day as the Longhorns prepare for Saturday night’s game at TCU. Sarkisian said it will depend on how Ewers feels after missing the last two games with a shoulder injury. Maalik Murphy has played every snap over Arch Manning since Ewers left with an injury. Nov. 4, 2023 — Ewers threw on Thursday, and Texas is optimistic he can return this week, according to Bruce Feldman on Big Noon Kickoff. Ewers missed his second consecutive game in Saturday’s 33-30 overtime win over Kansas State with a shoulder injury. Head coach Steve Sarkisian said Ewers is moving in the right direction but did not say how quickly he’ll be able to return. Murphy played every snap over Manning for the second week in a row.

NOTES: Nov. 9, 2023 — LSU QB Jayden Daniels is probable for Saturday’s game against Florida, head coach Brian Kelly said. He practiced again on Thursday and will most likely pass concussion protocol before the matchup against the Gators, according to Kelly. Daniels exited last week’s loss to Alabama with a head injury and was replaced by Garrett Nussmeier, who would start if Daniels is not cleared. Nov. 8, 2023 — LSU head coach Brian Kelly said QB Jayden Daniels has been cleared to practice on Wednesday and will be cleared for full-contact on Thursday if all goes well. Daniels suffered a head injury during last week’s loss to Alabama, and Garrett Nussmeier would get the start on Saturday against Florida if Daniels is unavailable. Nov. 4, 2023 — Head coach Brian Kelly said Daniels suffered a head injury and was not able to come back after leaving Saturday’s 42-28 road loss to Alabama. He added there needs to be more testing done before saying whether it is a concussion or not. Nussmeier replaced him, and it’s unclear if Daniels will be back this week.

NOTES: Nov. 9, 2023 — The Mississippi State depth chart shows QB Will Rogers the starter with Mike Wright as the backup heading into Saturday’s game at Texas A&M. Rogers missed the last three games with a shoulder injury but has been practicing, according to head coach Zach Arnett. Wright has been starting in his place, but true freshman Chris Parson replaced him in last week’s loss to Kentucky, and Arnett said both would play if Rogers is out. Nov. 8, 2023 — Mississippi State head coach Zach Arnett said QB Will Rogers has been practicing and has been able to do more heading into Saturday’s game at Texas A&M. Arnett added Rogers will be the starting quarterback if he’s able to play after missing three games with a shoulder injury. Mike Wright has been starting but was replaced by true freshman Chris Parson in last week’s loss to Kentucky. Arnett said Wright and Parson would play if Rogers is unavailable this weekend. Nov. 4, 2023 — Rogers did not suit up as he missed his third straight game with a shoulder injury in Saturday’s 24-3 home loss to Kentucky. According to the game broadcast, Rogers told SEC Network’s Tom Hart he guarantees he will be ready for the Egg Bowl even if his arm fell off. Head coach Zach Arnett said Rogers has been part of practice and will play when cleared. He also added it would be nice for Rogers to return before the Egg Bowl, which is Nov. 23. Wright started again with 46 snaps before Chris Parson made his college football debut, playing the entire fourth quarter. Head coach Zach Arnett said Parson provided a spark, and Parson has only been available in an emergency situation recently after suffering a minor injury setback. Arnett was not asked whether he’s open to starting Parson this week.

NORTHWESTERN WILDCATS

NOTES: Nov. 6, 2023 — Northwestern interim head coach David Braun said he’s not willing to say QB Ben Bryant is not available for Saturday’s game at Wisconsin. Braun said with the progression Bryant showed over the last couple weeks, there’s a possibility he will be ready to go after missing the last three games with an upper body injury. Braun said the team will take the starting quarterback position day by day whether Bryant or Brendan Sullivan will start if both are healthy this weekend. Nov. 4, 2023 — Bryant missed his third consecutive game in Saturday’s 10-7 loss to Iowa with an upper body injury. Sullivan earned another start with Lausch rotating in as a rushing threat. Interim head coach David Braun was not asked about Bryant’s status for this week.

WISCONSIN BADGERS

NOTES: Nov. 10, 2023 — Tanner Mordecai has continued to progress this week and could be available to play on Saturday if he feels good in pregame warmups, according to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Jeff Potrykus. Nov. 6, 2023 — Wisconsin head coach Luke Fickell said QB Tanner Mordecai was potentially available in an emergency in the loss to Indiana as he missed his third consecutive game since suffering a broken hand. Fickell did not say if or how much Mordecai has been practicing, but he is not listed on the depth chart with Braedyn Locke likely to get another start on Saturday against Northwestern. Nov. 4, 2023 — Mordecai was in uniform and warmed up prior to Saturday’s 20-14 road loss to Indiana but only appeared to be available in an emergency situation. Head coach Luke Fickell said he hopes Mordecai is getting close to returning. He missed his third consecutive game since suffering a broken hand with Locke getting every snap.
