Week 12 QB Depth Charts & Injuries Tracker
Keep in mind, not every team releases a depth chart or an injury report, but the depth charts reflect whatever the team releases during the week. I’ll add a few notes to provide more context to any QB injury or depth chart question, and this post is updated throughout the week. The Big Ten requires an “availability report” be released two hours before game time that shows injury questions. Other than that, there is no consequence for teams to mislead on depth charts and injuries to potentially gain an advantage.
Because of that, this will never be perfect, but I put in the time and research on this page to make sure it’s the most accurate resource for QB injury and depth chart news on the internet.
A few notes on my injury designations:
Questionable — Suffered an injury in the previous game or has yet to return from injury.
Probable — Had been injured but played and looked healthy in the previous game.
Out — No chance the player will be available.
A few notes on eligibility:
Players may play up to 4 games in a season without it counting toward a year of eligibility if they have a redshirt available.
2020 COVID season didn’t count toward a year of eligibility.
Years of eligibility shows years left heading into the 2023 season.
*Indicates redshirt is still available to use.
The top two quarterback options (more if they’re known) are in bold for all 133 FBS programs. The rest are sorted by years of eligibility remaining, followed by highest high school star rating from 247, On3 and Rivals.
Snap count info is via Pro Football Focus.

NOTES: Nov. 16, 2023 — Miami head coach Mario Cristobal said Tyler Van Dyke will return to the starting lineup for Saturday’s game against Louisville. With Emory Williams out for the rest of the season, Van Dyke’s top competition would’ve been Jacurri Brown, who has yet to play this season. Cristobal told The Joe Rose Show that Williams should be back for spring practice after suffering a left arm injury late in Saturday’s 27-20 road loss to Florida State. According to Miami Herald’s Susan Miller Degnan, Williams suffered a compound fracture and was scheduled to undergo surgery earlier this week. Nov. 11, 2023 — Head coach Mario Cristobal said Williams suffered a significant arm injury in Saturday’s 27-20 road loss to Florida State. He made his second start of the season and the first with usual starter Tyler Van Dyke available to play. Williams burned his redshirt for this game with his fifth appearance of the season. Van Dyke finished the game and is likely the guy this week unless the coaching staff decides to give Jacurri Brown his first snaps of the season. Cristobal said there were thoughts of Brown playing in this game.

NOTES: Nov. 16, 2023 — UCLA QB Ethan Garbers wore the GoPro on his helmet for the second practice in a row, according to Bruin Report Online’s Tracy Pierson. He looked much better in practice after limping through drills last week and was only available in an emergency situation in the loss to Arizona State. Dante Moore was also available in an emergency, and head coach Chip Kelly said QB Collin Schlee was expected to participate in practice for the first time since leaving late in last week’s game but was seen watching in a T-shirt and shorts, according to Los Angeles Times’ Ben Bolch. In the game, he was replaced by Chase Griffin. Garbers, Moore and Schlee are listed as co-starters for Saturday at USC, but that is what the depth chart has looked like all season. Nov. 11, 2023 — Head coach Chip Kelly said Garbers and Moore were available in an emergency situation in Saturday’s 17-7 home loss to Arizona State. Both left the previous week’s game against Arizona, leading to Schlee getting the start. Schlee exited late in the fourth quarter with an injury and was replaced by Griffin, who finished the game. Kelly did not have an update on Schlee after the game.

NOTES: Nov. 16, 2023 — Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule said QBs Jeff Sims and Chubba Purdy received the bulk of the reps in practice this week. Heinrich Haarberg started every game since Week 3 but left last week’s loss to Maryland with a first half ankle injury. He will practice on Friday and be available in some capacity, according to Rhule, who has not named a starter for Saturday’s game at Wisconsin. Sims took over last week but was replaced by Purdy, and the three are listed as co-starters on the depth chart. Nov. 11, 2023 — Head coach Matt Rhule said Haarberg was cleared to return for Saturday’s 13-10 home loss to Maryland despite a first half ankle injury, though he clearly would’ve been limited. Sims took over before being replaced by Purdy for the final drive. After the game, Rhule said he’d be lying if he knew who will be the starter this week, and Purdy “has something that may require something at the end of the year,” referring to a groin injury that has been an issue since early in the season.
